Fairy Lights
Winter’s here, the trees are bare,
and fairy lights begin to glow,
fairy lights are everywhere
now cold winds blow and trees are bare.
Like evening glow-worms glittering where
forgotten summer grasses grow,
even though the trees are bare,
fairy lights begin to glow.
Gather holly and evergreens
and wrap them round with twinkling stars,
make garlands for the Fairy Queen
from fragrant spice and evergreens,
hang magic forests and fairy streams
in city stores and school bazaars,
gather holly and evergreens
and wrap them round with twinkling stars.
Frost and fir tree fairies weave
a magic spell on winter nights,
every little child believes
that tiny Christmas fairies weave
a spell on every tree and leave
them twinkling, bright with fairy lights.
Oh, frost and fir tree fairies, weave
a magic spell on winter nights!
and fairy lights begin to glow,
fairy lights are everywhere
now cold winds blow and trees are bare.
Like evening glow-worms glittering where
forgotten summer grasses grow,
even though the trees are bare,
fairy lights begin to glow.
Gather holly and evergreens
and wrap them round with twinkling stars,
make garlands for the Fairy Queen
from fragrant spice and evergreens,
hang magic forests and fairy streams
in city stores and school bazaars,
gather holly and evergreens
and wrap them round with twinkling stars.
Frost and fir tree fairies weave
a magic spell on winter nights,
every little child believes
that tiny Christmas fairies weave
a spell on every tree and leave
them twinkling, bright with fairy lights.
Oh, frost and fir tree fairies, weave
a magic spell on winter nights!
