Eternal Stars
Beyond the urban lights
we gaze at the Milky Way
and there you ask me
if we’ll always be together.
So I tell you a story
of the realms above the boundless sky
where galaxies are moving, ever-changing,
like the passing of seasons through time.
I reveal how we are made
from the same materials as the stars.
An aftermath of a supernova,
when a dying star explodes
into a colossal cloud of cosmic dust.
Fragments float in the inky tide of space,
until they collide and cluster,
like a celestial snowball
rolling bigger and bigger
into a sparkly new star -
the birth of life.
And when our light
fades from this world,
a trace of us will remain together
interwoven in the stars, forever
we gaze at the Milky Way
and there you ask me
if we’ll always be together.
So I tell you a story
of the realms above the boundless sky
where galaxies are moving, ever-changing,
like the passing of seasons through time.
I reveal how we are made
from the same materials as the stars.
An aftermath of a supernova,
when a dying star explodes
into a colossal cloud of cosmic dust.
Fragments float in the inky tide of space,
until they collide and cluster,
like a celestial snowball
rolling bigger and bigger
into a sparkly new star -
the birth of life.
And when our light
fades from this world,
a trace of us will remain together
interwoven in the stars, forever
