Endless Ocean

Listen to Linda read her poem ...
For me the sky is endless ocean -
The clouds creatures in constant motion.
Sunlight lawn-lounging upon my back,
Meandering blue in my own kayak,
I spy flying fish in silvery shoals;
Jumbly jellyfish like upturned bowls;
Stingrays cruising like eerie UFOs;
Nimble mermaids with pretty hair bows;
Molten steel seals that twirl and swirl;
Narwhals pointing with tusks that curl;
Sweetheart seahorses with tails entwined;
A giant octopus, a mastermind;
Dream dolphin schools, dancing and diving,
Skimming wave-crests frosted with icing;
Wild windswept wings of the snow albatross;
A blizzard of gulls as they turn and toss;
And finally the giant humpback whale,
Filling the sapphire as he sets to sail.

When waves grow grey, bubble and mass,
Raindrops hammer my place on the grass,
I explore from the harbour safe inside
The ocean sky storm with the turning tide.
