The Dirigible Balloon
Poetry for Children

Ellie

She trumpets at dawn
Thunders down the hallway
Galumph galumph
She stretches out her trunk
Reaching for the peanut butter
Hoots loudly at the sight
Of a tiny mouse
And stomps outside
To bathe in a puddle
She’s wild, my sister
