Eating in the Library
If the kitchen’s the heart of the home
with cupboards of food overflowing -
the library’s the heart of the school,
a repository that just keeps on growing.
Because food - it just gets eaten,
with cupboards and shelves soon bare,
but a library just can’t be beaten,
you’ll always find nourishment there.
And your diet can be endlessly varied,
snacking on books is a thrill,
you can taste the joy of volumes,
eat a treat from Bill Wigglestick’s quill.
Or…
Picnic on a poetry anthology,
devour a historical romance,
digest fascinating philosophy,
pick at a thesis on France.
Nibble a traditional whodunnit,
consume a pamphlet or two,
browse magazines for a little bit
or ingest jokes that tickle just you.
You could…
Dine on the latest best seller,
banquet on classics you adore,
top up your tanks with a thriller,
feast on fantasies from far distant shores.
Your appetite will never be sated,
there is always more to read -
so…
Chomp to your heart’s desire,
this is one place to celebrate greed!
with cupboards of food overflowing -
the library’s the heart of the school,
a repository that just keeps on growing.
Because food - it just gets eaten,
with cupboards and shelves soon bare,
but a library just can’t be beaten,
you’ll always find nourishment there.
And your diet can be endlessly varied,
snacking on books is a thrill,
you can taste the joy of volumes,
eat a treat from Bill Wigglestick’s quill.
Or…
Picnic on a poetry anthology,
devour a historical romance,
digest fascinating philosophy,
pick at a thesis on France.
Nibble a traditional whodunnit,
consume a pamphlet or two,
browse magazines for a little bit
or ingest jokes that tickle just you.
You could…
Dine on the latest best seller,
banquet on classics you adore,
top up your tanks with a thriller,
feast on fantasies from far distant shores.
Your appetite will never be sated,
there is always more to read -
so…
Chomp to your heart’s desire,
this is one place to celebrate greed!
