Decorating the Christmas Tree
Choose a chiming silver bell
to peal the news the angels tell.
Choose some shepherds, wrapped up warm,
keeping lambs and sheep from harm.
Choose some tinsel, long and looped
as the road the Wise Men took.
Choose a crib for Mary’s boy -
our Father’s gift, his mother’s joy.
Choose a star to shed its beam
on the Christmas manger scene.
Chase the beam of light it casts
to find a matchless gift that lasts.
to peal the news the angels tell.
Choose some shepherds, wrapped up warm,
keeping lambs and sheep from harm.
Choose some tinsel, long and looped
as the road the Wise Men took.
Choose a crib for Mary’s boy -
our Father’s gift, his mother’s joy.
Choose a star to shed its beam
on the Christmas manger scene.
Chase the beam of light it casts
to find a matchless gift that lasts.
