Creatures Everywhere

When I lived in Singapore
Every day I’d see
A hornbill waiting near my school
to say hello to me.

When I lived in Thailand
I knew that somewhere near
there’d be a gecko’s sticky toes
tiptoeing there and here.

When I lived in Vietnam
Some chickens lived next door
They weren’t plain and simple,
but had plumes and crowns galore.

When I lived in the desert
in Oman, to my surprise
the goats climbed trees and stood there
with bold triumph in their eyes.

When I lived in Egypt,
there were camels quite close by.
Sure-footed, they stepped proudly
with their heads held extra high.

In every single country,
there are creatures big and small.
I’d like to visit everywhere
so I could see them all!
