The Dirigible Balloon
Poetry for Children

Choose Wisely

Would you choose a slug in your bed
Or a cat on your head?
Would you choose to wade through sludge
Or to swim in hot fudge?
Would you choose a cross-country run
Or to visit the sun?
Would you choose to hop over a lake
Or to live in a cake?
Would you choose a tower of jelly
Or socks that are smelly?
Would you choose to change?
For, no matter how strange,
Your life is yours
and you’re special because
You are unique, cared about too,
There’s no one on Earth exactly like YOU!
