Champ
Nabbing the last chocolate biscuit on the plate,
getting round mum to let me stay up late,
watching the most hours of daytime TV -
at all of these the prizes go to me!
Gold for the messiest bedroom ever seen,
smelliest socks and pants, kit turning green;
weekends I’m sure to be the last one up.
Dirty dishes in the sink? I’d win the cup.
I love watching others run, skateboard, swim,
row and surf and shoot, cartwheel in the gym.
I’ll switch it off, get on my bike and pedal;
in four years’ time I might win a medal!
getting round mum to let me stay up late,
watching the most hours of daytime TV -
at all of these the prizes go to me!
Gold for the messiest bedroom ever seen,
smelliest socks and pants, kit turning green;
weekends I’m sure to be the last one up.
Dirty dishes in the sink? I’d win the cup.
I love watching others run, skateboard, swim,
row and surf and shoot, cartwheel in the gym.
I’ll switch it off, get on my bike and pedal;
in four years’ time I might win a medal!
