Canarian Christmas Countdown
Hang this Yuletide poem close to your bedEach day imagine the things you have read
***
One Canarian camel on the run
Two festive feathered parrots having fun
Three conical tinsel trees standing tall
Four pairs of angels’ wings on a stone wall
Five nativity scenes set in carparks
Six scintillating balcony landmarks
Seven flashing Happy Holiday signs
Eight decorated roadside holy shrines
Nine grey-ringed doves carrying sugary treats
Ten strings of shooting stars adorning streets
Eleven gleaming sunsets wrapped in gold
Twelve glitzy baubles waiting to be sold
Thirteen chocolate calendars on display
Fourteen shiny presents in Santa’s sleigh
Fifteen palm trees circled with fairy lights
Sixteen best shoes filled with delicious bites
Seventeen traditional Christmas cards
Eighteen illuminated promenades
Nineteen green garlands hanging on front doors
Twenty carved figures crossing church floors
Twenty-one clowns juggling in the squares
Twenty-two ribbons festooning the stairs
Twenty-three proud nutcrackers in straight rows
Twenty-four candles burning in windows
Twenty-five flames as Christmas time now glows
Two festive feathered parrots having fun
Three conical tinsel trees standing tall
Four pairs of angels’ wings on a stone wall
Five nativity scenes set in carparks
Six scintillating balcony landmarks
Seven flashing Happy Holiday signs
Eight decorated roadside holy shrines
Nine grey-ringed doves carrying sugary treats
Ten strings of shooting stars adorning streets
Eleven gleaming sunsets wrapped in gold
Twelve glitzy baubles waiting to be sold
Thirteen chocolate calendars on display
Fourteen shiny presents in Santa’s sleigh
Fifteen palm trees circled with fairy lights
Sixteen best shoes filled with delicious bites
Seventeen traditional Christmas cards
Eighteen illuminated promenades
Nineteen green garlands hanging on front doors
Twenty carved figures crossing church floors
Twenty-one clowns juggling in the squares
Twenty-two ribbons festooning the stairs
Twenty-three proud nutcrackers in straight rows
Twenty-four candles burning in windows
Twenty-five flames as Christmas time now glows
