Butterfly Friend
I met a new friend,
He flew towards me,
A butterfly -
His delicate wings,
Fluttered gently.
On my shoulder,
He rested there;
I smiled down at him -
His patterns dazzled,
Bright in the light.
Beautiful eyes
Shone in the sun
From his pretty wings,
He waved them,
As if to say 'hello'.
Then he flew away,
A flash of colour
Against the blue sky,
I said goodbye,
To my butterfly friend.
He flew towards me,
A butterfly -
His delicate wings,
Fluttered gently.
On my shoulder,
He rested there;
I smiled down at him -
His patterns dazzled,
Bright in the light.
Beautiful eyes
Shone in the sun
From his pretty wings,
He waved them,
As if to say 'hello'.
Then he flew away,
A flash of colour
Against the blue sky,
I said goodbye,
To my butterfly friend.
