The Dirigible Balloon
Poetry for Children

Brave

When I was wee
I hurt my knee.
I needed stitches
and elbow crutches,
but I was brave.

As I get older
I need to be bolder,
big things are coming
and I want to be winning
at brave.

It’s OK to be afraid,
to have a little fear.
New things can be scary,
but still I dare me
to be brave.
