The Dirigible Balloon
Poetry for Children

Beyond the City

Past the hustle and bustle
And fuss and fluster
Of stressful streets.

Over the clang and bang
And crash and clunk
Of frantic factories.

Beyond the hoot and toot
And screech and squeal
Of manic motorways.

Lies the whoosh and swoosh
And swirl and sway of the vast,
blue,
endless
ocean.
