Apple Pie

Some folk like kippers, so they boast.
Some stick to marmalade and toast.
For me, for breakfast, do or die,
my favourite is apple pie.

For lunch some like a steak well done;
others like rare boeuf Wellington.
And me, I get my mid-day high
from truffled chops and apple pie.

The teatime treat that makes some dream
is Cornish scones with clotted cream.
What I prefer is something Thai
with caviar and apple pie.

For evening meals some seek plush bars
and chefs bedecked with Michelin stars.
What floats my boat would make a gourmet sigh:
plain fish and chips with apple pie.
