Animal Antics

Granda can’t hear so well these days
He mixes up words and texts
It’s become our newest, funniest game
To guess just what he’ll say next.
I told him I needed a cardboard box
But he thought I’d said I’d seen a fox!
My sister said she’d a very sore throat
He thought there were escaped billy goats!
He told me Mum had bought six hens
When she’d really needed a black felt pen!
When Dad said he’d finished washing his car
Granda thought he’d found a budgerigar!
But the game changed when we met Bosphorus
Granda’s new pet baby rhinoceros!
