A Walk in Winter
As bare branches sway,
their castanet clicks
cracking the hush of December,
I let out a puff
of frosty white breath,
allowing myself to remember
the music of May,
a chorus of birds,
the rustling leaves, loud and lush.
Spring will return
with riotous song,
after the clicks and the hush.
their castanet clicks
cracking the hush of December,
I let out a puff
of frosty white breath,
allowing myself to remember
the music of May,
a chorus of birds,
the rustling leaves, loud and lush.
Spring will return
with riotous song,
after the clicks and the hush.
