A Dozen Tricks to be Magic
change your colours seasonally (leaf-like)
swoop between enormous mountain peaks (bird-like)
spring over any high wall (grasshopper-like)
swirl down the street (snow storm-like)
bounce your way to school (kangaroo-like)
laze around in a blue sky (cloud-like)
scamper up the tallest trees (squirrel-like)
light up when the sun goes down (star-like)
leap in and out of rushing rivers (fish-like)
wiggle your way into deep deep earth (worm-like)
fling your self though the milky way (comet-like)
think your way inside an idea (poem-like)

Zaro has been a lot of things: dancer, theatre director, actress, poet, playwright, educator, quilt collector and historian, author, publisher and a few others. She has been collecting American quilts for more than twenty years and has exhibited her collection variously in London galleries. She has written on quilts for Vogue, Elle Decoration, Traditional Homes and Interiors as well as numerous newspapers. Her poetry for children has appeared in many anthologies.
